The itinerary winds between Baronia and Barbagia to discover the village of Orosei, which boasts one of the best preserved historical centers of the island, some of the most important and suggestive Nuragic archaeological sites in the area and two of the most famous and controversial areas of Barbagia, Orgosolo, the town of murals and Mamoiada, the town of the Mamuthones.
No special clothing is required. It is still recommended to wear comfortable clothes for walks.
A unique and captivating way to discover the corners and alleys of the historic centre: an evocative twilight tour through the history, legends, popular beliefs and “noir” tales of the town of Orosei.
Duration: 2 ½ hours
Guided by an archaeologist, you will visit some of the most fascinating archaeological sites in the area, such as the tomb of the giants of S’Ena e Thomes, one of the oldest on the island, and the Nuragic village of Serra Orrios, one of the largest and best preserved in Sardinia, or alternatively the Nuragic sanctuary of Janna ‘e Pruna and the sacred source of Su Notante, dedicated to the cult of water.

You will discover Orgosolo, the town of murals and silkworms, where the ancient art of silk spinning has been handed down for more than four hundred years. We will guide you in one of the symbolic towns of Barbagia, once sadly known for the phenomenon of banditry, which has now become famous all over the world for its colorful murals. Similarly, Mamoiada has linked its fame to Cannonau wine and to the Mamuthones, disturbing and bewitching masks at the same time, which together with the Issohadores, give life to one of the most controversial and fascinating carnivals on the island. Optionally, lunch in the vineyard or in a typical Sardinian inn.
