The itinerary consists of a small journey that aims to partly retell and revive the stories of the Nuorese writer. It develops in four stages:
We start with Orosei, the summer destination of Deledda together with Galtellì, where every September out of devotion she went on pilgrimage with her family to the sanctuary of the Madonna del Rimedio, to participate in the Novena.
We continue with Galtellì, the center of the Deleddiano Literary Park where Canne al Vento is set, her most famous novel, which earned her the Nobel Prize for literature in 1926. Among the alleys of the town the stories are revived also thanks to the numerous epigraphs, with excerpts of the most evocative phrases.
The third stage is a journey back in time. Lollove, more than any other place, can convey the atmosphere of stories. The minute village is as if it has stood still over the centuries. The rugged mountains that enclose it and the irreversible decline have left its charm intact up to us.
The last stop is the artist’s hometown. That Nuoro which at the time gave rise to a frenetic intellectual activity. A visit to the house-museum where the writer was born is a must. The internal environments, including the various halls, the bedrooms, the pantry and the lovely courtyard, were an inspiration for creating the conditions suitable for describing a slice of life in Sardinia at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries.
