From Olbia to Oristano to discover authentic Sardinia

On the second day, we invite you to discover the authentic flavors of the region with a visit to the Surrau Cellars, located a few kilometers from the sea in the eastern part of Gallura. The surrounding area is characterized by granite rocks smoothed by wind and water, as well as lush Mediterranean scrub. The guided tour will allow you to discover the history and processes of wine production. Furthermore, you can taste a selection of wines and typical products, skilfully combined to enhance their unique flavours. The tastings are inspired by the seasons and the territory, for you to get to know traditional Sardinian cuisine and the surprising fusions of gastronomic cultures in the best possible way. On the third day at La Contea di Rena, an immersive experience awaits you in the pristine nature of the splendid Gallura. A trekking route of about 2.5 km will guide you to the discovery of a breathtaking view among the majestic granite rocks, where you can also admire the legendary fairy house. Even if you are not expert hikers, don’t worry, the route is also accessible for families and less experienced hikers thanks to the low degree of difficulty. Along the way, you will find signs with descriptions of the local flora and fauna, which will help you better appreciate this wonderful adventure in nature.

On the fourth day, discover Nuoro, a jewel of the Sardinian inland. Here you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture by visiting one of its unique museums (such as the one dedicated to Grazia Deledda or the ISRE) or have a rural experience with a local beekeeper. In the afternoon you will visit the workshop of a ceramic craftsman who produces unique pieces and jewels. Don’t miss this incredible visit!

On the fifth day, move to Sorradile, on the shores of Lake Omodeo where you will have the opportunity to take a boat tour of the lake. Moving then to the hilly part, you will visit the complex of about twenty domus janas in Prunittu. The village of Sorradile has been restructured to such an extent that it has become an authentic hospitable village and inside it is possible to visit the Su Monte museum. Before leaving again you will stop at the Santa Chiara dam where you will admire the submerged house of the power plant that appears from the waters.

On the sixth day, witness first-hand the creation of wooden animals and characters with particular characterizations studied according to twentieth-century and contemporary lines. It is precisely called Pinokkieria because it draws from a vast repertoire made up of the protagonists of fairy tales (Pinocchio above all) passing through the history of Sardinia, and the local fauna. The craftsman will show you how through formal synthesis and colors he has designed and created countless sculptures that respond to a coherent and playful line.

At the end of the demonstration you will have the opportunity to participate in a beautiful workshop on the design and construction of wooden characters and animals, with references to illustration and design followed by an expert craftsman.

On the last day, immerse yourself in history at the Giovanni Marongiu Civic Museum in Cabras. The museum houses artifacts that narrate the history of Sardinia from Prehistory to the Roman era. Inside the museum, the Giants of Mont’e Parma are famous, unique sculptures dating back to the Nuragic period.

In the afternoon, head to the Tharros archaeological site, which spans over two thousand years of history, from Nuragic origins to the Roman era, with remains of temples, baths, necropolises, and roads.
