Nuoro and Oliena trekking

Your adventure starts from Nuoro, in the heart of Sardinia. Nuoro is famous for its unique museums due to the wealth of natural and traditional resources of its territory. The first day begins with a visit to ISRE – the museum of Sardinian popular life and traditions which houses the most complete ethnographic exhibition in Sardinia. You will discover all about the traditions, customs and traditions of the island. In the afternoon take part in a unique experience on the world of beekeeping in the countryside around Nuoro. A beekeeper will all about the secrets of his beekeeping activity.

On the second day you will reach Oliena on foot following the path of the Santu Jacu Way. The route is about 16 km long and of medium difficulty. Oliena is a small village in Barbagia in which to relax and take part in unique excursions to discover the authentic and wild Sardinian inland.

Once in Oliena, discover the natural wonders by participating in daily excursions that will introduce you to wonderful places and landscapes. An excursion is to Monte Maccione to enjoy a lunar landscape that will make you forget you are in Sardinia. The other excursion not to be missed is the one to the Lanaitho Valley and the archaeological village of Tiscali. To get there you will pass through the paths of charcoal burners and shepherds, admiring the rich local fauna and flora, caves and springs. An experience you will not forget!
