Nuoro: traditions, nature and culture

The first day begins with a visit to ISRE – the museum of Sardinian popular life and traditions which houses the most complete ethnographic exhibition in Sardinia. You will discover all about the customs and traditions of the island. In the afternoon you will take part in a unique experience on the world of beekeeping in the countryside around Nuoro. A beekeeper will tell you all about the secrets of his beekeeping activity.

On the second day, an excursion to Orotelli will let you discover the local nature and architecture. The excursion begins by visiting the historic center and the Church of San Giovanni Battista, learning everything about the culture of the country. Moving from the center you will have the opportunity to visit the famous rock formations of the town such as Sa Covecada (the Mushroom), the Dolmen, Su Thurpu, sa Ruche Crastidorzi. You will also visit the country church dedicated to Nostra Sennora di Sinne and the Nuraghe Aeddos in the Sa Serra park. For lovers of Romanesque architecture there will be the opportunity to visit the Church of San Nicola in Ottana.

On the last day, another excursion will take you to Oniferi where you will have the opportunity to visit archaeological sites dating back to the Neolithic and Nuragic periods. The excursion will then continue to Orani reaching the top of Monte Gonare (1100 m), from which stands a country church that can always be visited.
